As a fully qualified practitioner and proud member of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC), I have spent over 10 years helping people rediscover their vitality through traditional acupuncture. This extensive experience means you can step into the treatment room with complete confidence, knowing that your care is grounded in rigorous clinical standards and a decade of successful patient outcomes.
Taking the first step toward a new health routine can sometimes feel daunting, which is why I welcome prospective clients with a complimentary initial chat. During this brief consultation, we can discuss your specific symptoms, explore your long-term wellness goals, and determine if acupuncture is the best course of action for you.
Your recovery is my priority. I am connected with a trusted network of local practitioners and will happily refer you to another specialist if that best suits your needs.
Over the last decade, I have successfully supported patients managing a wide range of concerns, including acute and chronic pain, musculoskeletal issues, long-term illnesses, anxiety, fertility, menopause and general well-being.
Experience this restorative care in my peaceful, rural treatment room located just one mile from Beaminster Market Square, with stress-free parking directly outside.
My journey into traditional acupuncture began in 2012, sparking a life-changing fascination with Chinese medicine, holistic nutrition, and natural skincare. Today, I balance my love for healthcare with life on our small Beaminster farm, where I tend to a busy mix of cattle, guinea fowl, chickens and honeybees, or head to the coast when the tides line up. When I am not outdoors, you will find me continuously learning and expanding my clinical skills to bring you the best possible care. I work from a peaceful, rural treatment room where we can focus completely on your relaxation and recovery.

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to help balance the flow of energy. In addition to needling, acupuncture practitioners regularly utilise moxibustion, cupping, guasha and other therapies to further promote healing, reduce pain, and improve overall well-being.
Acupuncture is a gentle treatment that is safe when carried out by a licensed practitioner. With very few side effects, it can offer a supportive and effective option for addressing a wide range of conditions.
All acupuncture stems from East Asia including China. Evidence of the use of acupuncture dates back at least 2000 years.
The ancient East Asians discovered acupuncture points that had specific effects on the person. They understood how energy (qi) flows along meridians, the need for a balance between Yin and Yang, the energetic and physical function of the organs, the connection between nature and every living being and so on... they did some fairly barbaric experiments in their quest for understanding how the body works, responds to stress and heals after trauma. Traditional Classical Acupuncture uses these theories of meridians, yin and yang, pulse diagnosis and lots more to inform the practitioner's diagnosis and then treat appropriately. Traditional Acupuncture is a holistic treatment that requires a qualified (3-year degree) practitioner to safely use this method of ancient medicine that is still so relevant and effective today.
By contrast, 'Western medical acupuncture' is a very simplified version where knowledge of anatomy is all that is needed to dry-needle trigger points. Needles may be inserted directly into a contracted muscle which will help to release it, but probably only for the short term. Practitioners can learn this technique on a weekend course as a top-up to their qualification as a medical doctor, physiotherapist, chiropractor or osteopath.
Dry needling or 'Western acupuncture' has it's place for musculoskeletal issues, but for everything else and a long term solution, Traditional Acupuncture will be far more effective.
Acupuncture needles are very fine. Mostly, people don't notice them being inserted at all. However, if you're not yet convinced, I have qualified in a style of acupuncture that uses non-insertive needling, along with other techniques which I can use so you can relax and enjoy all the benefits of traditional acupuncture, without the needles!
An initial course of 6 treatments is generally recommended. The frequency depends on the individual’s condition and their response to treatment. The treatment usually starts with weekly sessions. As the condition improves, the frequency is reduced.
Many people find that continuing with acupuncture on a regular basis helps to keep their health in check and provides a relaxing treat. Throughout East Asia, acupuncture is seen as a preventative medicine.
Yes, it can be used in conjunction with other medical treatments, including medication and physical therapy. However, it is important to inform your healthcare providers of all the treatments you are receiving.
Most insurance companies do cover Acupuncture treatment. However you must check with your own Private Health Insurer to establish what your individual policy will cover and to what extent.
Acupuncture can be very effective when it comes to treating anxiety, panic disorder, depression and other mental health conditions. It can also help reduce stress and promote relaxation and emotional wellbeing.
Acupuncture is safe for children. I am experienced and qualified to treat children. Offering a variety of non-needling techniques, the treatment is gentle, relaxing and tailored to suit the child.
